Why Remember?
An open score after Anton Chekhov
‘Three Sisters’
What is Moscow? Moscow is everything that is not here and now. Moscow is not the theatre, even if the theatre is in Moscow.
The creation WHY REMEMBER? Is the result of a short encounter between the Haifa. It Ensemble and Chekhov’s play Three Sisters.
Based on Chekhov’s dramatic and poetic structure, ‘Why remember’ is an ever changing play filled by the actors’ words and behavior.
By freeing ourselves from Chekhov’s words we are actually going back to the origins of his writing: to the originality he asked to bring to the stage, to the life his writing aroused on the old wooden stage.
This is a piece about young individuals looking for a bit of clarity in the cloudiness of life. Just like ourselves.
