Theatre maker, artistic director and sometimes-performer, based in Tel-Aviv.

Itai Doron is an artistic director and curator in the performing arts. Currently he is the co-artistic director of Tmuna Theatre in Tel Aviv. He also serves as the artistic director of Tmuna Festival and the A-Genre Festival, focusing on experimental and cross-disciplinary art. In addition, he co-leads "Endpoint”, a theater directing program for emerging directors. Previously, he led the ‘Haifa.It’ group, exploring new approaches to municipal theater through artistic and community initiatives.

For his first show as a director, MC-Coriolanus, he won the Best Director award at the Acco Fringe Festival 2015. The show toured several cities in Europe. Since then he has directed Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People at Nissan Nativ Acting Studio in Tel Aviv and Harold Pinter’s Betrayal at Hayadit Theater Lab at Pardes-Hanna.

Together with Omri Rosenblum, he co-directed The Child Dreams by Hanoch Levin at the NTB (National Theater of Bitola, North Macedonia), which then toured to Beijing, Shanghai and Jaffa.

He has also served as assistant director to Simon Stone at Ivo Van-Hove theatre company - Toneelgroep Amsterdam.

From 2017 he is an active part of the Italian and international collective: Laboratorio Fuoco alla paglia, Exploring as an actor and a director in "theater laboratories" around the world with theater makers like Italian Giacomo Veronesi and Frenchman Lionel Gonzalez.

From 2020 to 2022 Itai was the artistic director of the Haifa.it group: A young theatre platform by the Haifa Municipal Theater, there he directed the shows ‘Shotetut’ & ‘Children of the sun’ and initiated serval projects like the Impossible theatre festival & The Villa

Itai graduated contemporary choreography studies at at Kelim Choreography Center (2021) and he is currently involved in projects as a performer and dramaturg with artists like Talia Beck and Omer Kriger.

From 2022 Itai was inited to co-direct the 'A - genre Festival' with Dr. Erez Maayan Shalev at Tmuna Theatre and 'Endpoint' (נקודת קצה) with Avi Gibson Barel at Notzar Theatre.


From 2023 Itai is one of the artistic directors at Tmuna Theatre in Tel-Aviv.

Creating together and separately: Theater, Cinema and everything in between. Met while working on the theater production M.C Coriolanus by William Shakespeare. They explore in their artistic language the relations between cinema and theater, and the transition of classic texts to modern reality.
